Changing the display of the view

You can change display settings for any view tab. If the tab shows peripheral panes as well as the central pane, changes apply only to the active pane.

With site views, a significant change you can make is from the default graphical view to outline view. (Outline view is a hierarchical display of folders, subfolders, and files like the one in the Files tab.) Use outlines to show more detailed and compact representations of the files in the central pane or a peripheral pane.

To change the display for a site or site design view:

1 Display a site view or site design view.

2 Click the Display tab of the View Controller.

3 Click the pane you want to change.

4 Do any of the following:

  • Show the site view graphically or in outline. Site design views don't appear in outline form.
  • Show items in the view as icons, thumbnails, frames, or ovals. Ovals are oval only if the frame size is wide. Otherwise they are circles.
  • Show item labels as page titles or filenames.
  • Change the cell size and press Enter.
  • Change the frame size.
  • Click the Item Color field to display the Color palette. The color you choose is used for the frames of items, and a lighter tint of it is used for the fill.

  • In site design view, item labels can also be design names. For information on this and other changes you can make only in site design views, see Controlling the view.
